Many of you know Jhoon Rhee Tae Kwon Do Master Instructor Deanna Hawk. In June 2024, she moved from her full-time role with us into a new position with C. J. Coakley Co., Inc., where she leads the planning and production of DC’s Dancing Stars Gala.

While her day-to-day role changed, her connection to Jhoon Rhee Tae Kwon Do did not. Master Hawk remains involved with us and serves on our Black Belt examination panels throughout the year.

This year, her continued connection to Jhoon Rhee and her work with the Gala have come together in a very special way.

2026 DC’s Dancing Stars Gala Celebrity Contestant

On Saturday, October 24, DC’s Dancing Stars Gala will take place at The Ritz-Carlton, Pentagon City
and one of this year’s Celebrity contestants is none other than Jhoon Rhee Tae Kwon Do adult student and black belt BOB GRAY!

A retired Arlington County Fire Department Battalion Chief, 9/11 Pentagon responder and traumatic brain injury survivor, Bob is taking on an entirely new challenge this fall: ballroom dancing.
He and professional partner Alina Kupriianova are dancing in support of the Raymond A. Wood Foundation.
