We are proud to share that Jhoon Rhee Tae Kwon Do has been named a 2026 Virginia Tech Hokie 100 honoree, recognizing our school as one of the 100 fastest-growing Hokie-led businesses.

The Hokie 100 recognizes companies founded, owned, or led by Virginia Tech alumni and celebrates entrepreneurial success and business growth within the Hokie community. 2026 marks the inaugural year of the Hokie 100, making us especially proud to be recognized among the program’s first-ever Top 100 honorees. Jhoon Rhee Tae Kwon Do was founded in Arlington in 2005 by Virginia Tech alumnus Master Barry Shackelford.

The inaugural Hokie 100 recognition ceremony was held on September 2, bringing together this year’s honorees to celebrate the accomplishments and growth of Hokie-led businesses.

While this recognition is based on business growth, to us it represents something much more. Our growth over the years has only been possible because of the thousands of students and families who have walked through our doors, the instructors who have dedicated themselves to teaching, and the Arlington community that has supported our school for more than two decades.

Since opening our doors as a brand-new school in 2005, our mission has remained the same: Teaching Life Skills Through Martial Arts.

Thank you to our students, parents, instructors, alumni, and friends who have helped us reach this milestone. We are proud to represent both the Jhoon Rhee Tae Kwon Do and Virginia Tech communities as a member of the inaugural 2026 Hokie 100!
