JUNIOR & FAMILY PROGRAM

Build Confidence. Build Character.

Our older grade-school age students develop confidence and character by earning higher levels of Tae Kwon Do ranks.  This gives them a sense of achievement and accomplishment that can be applied to other areas of life.

The awarding of the higher levels of Tae Kwon Do belts gives your child a sense of accomplishment. This develops the principle of goal setting. We work on students immediate, short term, and long term goals, which they will be able to apply to other areas in life.

Jhoon Rhee Tae Kwon Do also involves light-contact sparring and forms (patterns) competition (Sport Tae Kwon Do). This helps develop a sense of sportsmanship in a controlled and competitive environment.

The foundation of Jhoon Rhee Tae Kwon Do is its self-defense value. We are very careful to teach children that Tae Kwon Do is not to be used outside the Tae Kwon Do school in any manner other than in true self-defense. The result is a self-confident child, who does not need to bully or show-off to other children.

Our Junior Program can also make Tae Kwon Do a family activity, since our Junior/Family sessions are designed to allow children and parents to take classes together.

Martial Arts Weapons and Competition Programs

Traditionally, the Korean Art of Tae Kwon Do does not typically implement the use of Martial Arts weapons. However, Jhoon Rhee Arlington employs instructors that have years of experience in various weapons. Therefore, students have the opportunity to expand their Martial Arts experience beyond the standard Jhoon Rhee curriculum during special summer programming.
